A gum graft is a type of dental surgery performed to treat gum recession, where the gums pull away from the teeth, exposing the roots. This procedure involves taking healthy gum tissue, often from the roof of the mouth, and attaching it to the area where the gum has receded. The surgery aims to restore gum tissue, reduce sensitivity, and protect the teeth from decay and bone loss. Recovery typically involves following specific care instructions to ensure proper healing.
